Bar Admissions Ceremony

George Hearn PresentationOn November 17, 2008, the Supreme Court of South Carolina conducted an admissions ceremony for 327 new attorneys.  The Court congratulated these new admittees and welcomed them to the South Carolina Bar.

During the ceremony, the Court recognized George M. Hearn, Jr., Esquire, for his over twenty-two years of devoted service on the South Carolina Board of Law Examiners.  Mr. Hearn, who has participated in the administration of forty-five bar examinations testing a total of over 11,000 applicants, has served as the Chair of the Board since September 1997.

Presentation of Certificate to Kathryn Bockman's Parents

The Court also made a posthumous presentation of a certificate of admission for Kathryn A. Bockman.  Ms. Bockman, who served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Jean H. Toal, was tragically killed in an automobile accident in October.  She had taken and passed the bar examination.  The certificate of admission was accepted on her behalf by her parents, Robert and Kevin Bockman.
